The Pirate’s Tale
Among the rocks of Castro, in the heart of Salento, the sea has always told stories of adventure and battle. Deep caves like the Zinzulusa were perfect hideouts for pirates and merchants, while watchtowers lit up the night with fires warning that dark sails had appeared on the horizon.
It was a harsh sea, one that granted no mercy: one day it offered fish and wind, the next it brought corsairs ready to take everything. But from these encounters came exchanges too — spices from the East, songs and dances blending with local tarantellas, wines and oils carried across entire seas.
The pirate of Castro was not only a raider: he was a guardian of culture, uniting distant lands. He lived suspended between fear and freedom, between the urge to plunder and the need to celebrate life with bread and wine. His legacy still lingers: in the towers watching the sea, in the feasts of the piazza, in the tales of old fishermen who swear they saw black sails vanish into the waves.
🏴☠️ The Tale of The Pirates Hub
There’s a small port hidden between the canals of Hackney Wick — a place where the smell of roasted porchetta mixes with the sound of vinyl and the laughter of the crew.
That’s The Pirates Hub.
Born from a crazy idea, from long nights between Lecce and London, it’s more than a bar. It’s a hideout for real people. A space built with hands, heart, and a bit of madness — where food, music and freedom meet.
We don’t serve cocktails with plastic smiles. We serve panini like back home, Italian beer cold as the sea wind, espresso pulled from our La Marzocco GS3, and music loud enough to wake the docks.
Here, everyone is part of the crew — DJs, artists, wanderers, dreamers, and hungry souls.
Some come for the food, some for the vibe, some just to escape the city for a few hours.
All leave a bit more pirate than they arrived.
We host Open Decks, art collaborations, rum tastings, and secret after-hours in The Krypta — our private den for those who know.
We mix Salento roots with East London energy, because both live by the same rule: no fear, no limits, no fake smiles.
The Pirates Hub is not a franchise.
It’s a small independent port run by people who believe in good taste, loud music, and real connections.
If you find us, you’re part of it.
So come hungry, come curious — and remember:
once you board the Hub, you’re crew for life.
